Therapeutic inertia (TI) has been defined as a failure to introduce new medications or to increase doses of existing ones despite the lack of effectiveness of the current treatment. TI has been listed as one of the main causes of failure in the treatment of hypertension in the general population but the evidence in chronic kidney disease (CKD) is missing.
